Thumbs up taco sas questions.

hows it going? loooong time reader, first time poster. just was wondering a few questions on a sas project. Have a 00 taco 3.4 v6, manual, 4wd, mild 2in suspension lift (new skyjacker leafs and shocks in rear, and adjustable coil overs in the front). was getting a dana 44 for pretty cheap and was going to leave the rear stock axel but E lock it, get longer shackels and possibly double shackle the rear (good or bad idea for double shackles, have heard pros and cons about that project). anyway, was planing on 4 linking and coil over the front. just a few questions about good locations to tie into the frame with the 4 link. and would it be nessesary to drop in another crossmember to strengthen or to mount to?
not looking for anything too crazzy because it will be the DD till the mustang build is finishd. just something different to have fun with in Moab and around the woods. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would highly recomend against a double shackle setup in the rear. If you felt you had to go this route, I wold recomend locking the top shackle in on the road.
Depending on the mounts you get/fab for the front links, you may or may not need a cross member. Since it's the front and I am assuming that you are not going full hydro steering, you can not triangulate it at all, so you are going to also need a track bar (panhard bar). This would mean, more than likely, that either all three or four frame link mounts, and the track bar mount, would not need to be centered (rather out on the frame), so you wouldn't need a crossmember.
polyperformace makes some universal link kits, that may be something to think about. These mounts for the frame end would go right on the inside and underside of the frame.

Double shackles are a bad idea, even locked on the road, when you go offroad with them unlocked, try going down a steep hill. They can unload and make a bad situation fast. And as far as 4 link, it will be a very involved sas, Allpro has a kit but I have heard about bad manners on the street. I am mid leaf spring sas right now on my runner and it is complicated enough lol.
