Solid Axle Swaps, All Years Anything SAS related

What is this bracket and can I cut it off?

What is this bracket and can I cut it off?

Alright... I've searched high and low and haven't figured out exactly what this is. I'm refering to the attachment welded to the top of the axle I just bought (see pic). Any thoughts?

P.S. the other end was attached to the driver side frame.

I couldn't tell you dude, but go ahead and chop that crap off, you dont need it for an SAS.

homeade panhard bar, used with a coilover setup. And not built very well i might add.

Wtf kinda jerry rig. Chop that off before i chop my head off. Someone must have thought to put that there thinking it would cushion the ride of a solid axle...... WRONG

Stock 85 and older used push/pull steering. Had to use a anti wrap bar on the front axle to keep the steering from binding. If the truck had a custom lift on it, the PO probably just made that instead of spending money on a bar for a lifted truck.

Yes, you will need to cut it off for SAS.
