Not the lowest point to get snagged on. I'd leave it alone and not bother.

Don't.
If you want pics why, i'll take them
It keeps the U-Bolt from sliding down the axle..
the diff hangs down lower than that anyways
so if you do a ubolt reversal you're fine.

Suppose you could bevel off the front leading edge of that lower perch. Cut it back to 1/2" or so from the housing and then fill in the gap with some plate.

I just boxed mine top-bottom to reinforce the upper perch and to lengthen it a little bit. With it boxed in and all the corners rounded over, there are no sharp edges to catch on trail obstacles.

You do know that the TG spring hanger adds 1.5" to overall spring height. I'm sure you have researched the frame difference between the SA and IFS truck frame and know that there a some significant differences that require a SAS truck to have a minimum lift in order to have a decent amount of suspension uptravel so that your frony suspension doesn't bottom out on every peas sized piece of gravel you run over. Also I'm sure you research RUF and know that there is a difference in geometry RUF and lift springs that effect the hanger design.

I feel so confident that I would say your approach of "cut and see" will yeild you a very capable and moderately priced SAS. Matter of fact I wish I would have contributed the same amount of research before I SAS'd my truck to the lowest possible height.

Now serious you are to my knowledge about to make some mistakes.

Welcome to YT

I was trying really hard to to come across as flaming. My advice is to search. I opted for FROR spring hanger and Allpro 4"springs. Unfortunately the frame deminsions are what they are and my fab skills are not good enough to notch the frame.

I am unfamiliar with toyospears total build for that bit I was even very poor when I tried to post my SAS progress. I am also not very good at tracking other ppl's builds as my attention span wonders and SAS is so common.

So do your research. I forget what was the lowest SAS build that I found over the 1.5 yrs I research for my SAS but there comes a point the frame design limits your options. FYI there is always a frame swap and Budbuilt was designing frames for this perpose too. But my budget would not support radical frame sollutions.

We probably wheel the same types of terrain so you can look at widening you vehicles stance, rim backspace and wheel spacers.

This isn't the TG hanger, but its frenched.

Side by side comparison:

This hanger allows the axle to be moved way forward though, so if you plan on Hysteer this setup is too far forward for you.

Currently no gusseting. Will see how they do on the truck. My buddy built this once before and beat the HECK out of his truck and they never bent.
