I ran 33's without an added lift on IFS. Did more wheeling with that set up than SAS.

Your better off getting out and wheelin your rig now then see if sas is a good option. 4 crawler sales 1" body lifts.

So much better places to improve for wheelin than starting with an sas. To a large factor skill of the driver is more important than sas.

 

Go wheel. Take notes. Tread lightly.

 

id do the sas if I were you. like others said the 3.0 is a pos motor. basically if I were you id think about what I wanted in the long run. the 3.0 to 3.4 swap is something people do a lot. So the way id do your build is the the sas in the front with heavy duty leafs if its done right itll drive just fine I could take the hands off my dd sas at 80mph and the wheel never shook. Do chevy springs or trial gear springs in the rear probably a lot harder to do in a runner cause you cant just remove the bed to get the weld on the hanger beside the gas tank. once you have all your suspension done and your motor is still running wait till it blows up and find a 3.4 and do the swap youll have the truck forever itll turn heads and youll be very pleased with it.

 

I would take the advise of the members with 15k posts first. That said.. I am doing exactly what 88sas said except with a SBC so i need to SAS first anyway to fit the engine in. Another factor to think of is with a SAS you probably won't be doing a whole lot of high speed offroading or jumping.

 

Having a huge post count doesn't necessarily mean anything..........
