allright been a while since ive been able to work on my truck last...so here goes.. i cut the IFS crap off about 8 months ago and welded on the front hanger about an 1" and 3/4 or so forward...at the time i was planing a V8swap some time in the future.. but figureing out how expensive they are its not going to happen .fast forward to day and i got my shackle tubes welded in and everything mounted back up...and without a V8 theres no way stock springs are going to work.. i could barely get the spring mounted in the shackle..so heres the choices

cut and re-weld hanger back in its proper place (fully welded on mind you).....

rears up front swap..(math works out perfect but will prolly have to move steering box...)

or waggy springs backwards? 48" is long enough and maybe backwards 26" side facing forward my axle wont be too far forward like the RUF swap...have to do some measureing to make sure...

i dont have a whole lotta cash to swing around at the moment so im swinging towards the cut n re-weld...but i dunno if ill mess somthing up in the process..what would you guys do?

 

Rears up front for sure. They are readily available extremely cheap flex well and are very strong. The trick is finding the right pack for your needs. Steering box is not that hard, you will be glad that you did it.

 

yeah that was what i was thinking..but i dunno if i can move my steering box far enough forward.. for a RUF ill have to measure and see

i got mine far enough forward with ruf and hanger moved forward 3/4",
i had to trim the body mount slightly though.

haha no its pouring outside...wich is why im inside trying to figure stuff out...i have yet to find any good pictures of how to move the steering box forward..any links?

here is a couple that i found real quick using google.. do a lil searching, there is a ton of info on this subject.

 

everytime i search i get people's SAS and it just shows how far they moved it...like b4 and after no tech on how to move it lol or what they used

 

cool..lol with those 2 links i figured out i just need some 1/4"-3/8" plate and some 1" tubes to sleeve the holes wich can be found at HD makes me a happy kid cuz there isnt many metal fab places i can just go get steel or DOM tube from when i do it ill take lots of pics...
