Anyone used the sky manufacturing kit?

 

I have the front hanger from sky. its really beefy

 

Be sure and reinforce your frame. The hangers rarely break, the frame always will crack with time. The Sky/Allpro/Marlin hangers have more drop to them than the stock SA or Brian Ellinger's (Front Range Offroad Fab), which increases leverage on the frame.

 

I think that mechanical and fab skills are crucial to longevity of SAS kits. I have read arguments of which kit is the best and which is crap, this argument gets old fast.

I will tell you that I have Trail Grears SAS kit and I have had 0 issues. It is my dd and was driven through winter as well. The only issue I have had is the TRE rubber cracks. Big deal, I call TG and told them, they sent me 2...free of charge. My truck goes on wheeling trips every month, winter included.

Perhaps I am the luckiest guy out there, who knows. I do know that I researched the hell out of SAS installs, and took my time when I installed mine. A FSM is an invaluable tool.

My advice to anybody who is considering an SAS is to take your time. This usually is NOT a weekend project. Rebuilding an axle takes time, cutting off IFS components take time, welding and measuring takes time, and so on.

 

I was told over on TTORA that the sky manufacturing kit and the trail-gear kit are one in the same except for the front spring hanger. I have used all three kits in the past and I have no complaints on the Trail-Gear kit except the rubber on the TREs dried and cracked very quickly, but to me in was worth the savings, plus you get more stuff in their kits compared to the others. Like knuckle rebuild kits and bearings at no extra cost.
