SAS about to go down!

Well I have been reading a rereading post on here about sas and it is now time to do it! I found an axle and the guy wants a 150 bucks for it. My question is, is that a good deal for it or should I wait to see if one comes up cheeper? After i get the axle I will be getting the trail gear kit in the next few weeks! As soon as I get all my stuff I will be taking pics and stuff like that as I go!

The only one I've seen for sale in my area was $600 for both front and rear. Sold as a set only.

Junkyards don't have anything older than the 90's.

It's getting harder and more expensive to get old parts.

Just last weekend I paid $400 for both the front and rear off of an 85. I also got a high steer, brand spanking new rotors, brake calipers, and shoes... I felt like i got a good deal for sure, even thought the front axle is going to take some loving (grinding/paint). I say $150 is a good deal as long as it's not a total POS.

Make sure its not bent if you can, etc...

It will probably need a rebuild kit, etc...make sure the hubs work..

$150 is a good deal if it is a good axle.

Just remember that the front SAS kit is just the BEGINNING of all the stuff you have to do...rear lift, longer drive shafts, bigger tires/rims, regearing/lockers, ad infinitem ad nauseum.

It never stops.

Check out my stuff on the website and let me know if you got questions via email.
