About driveshafts after SAS
Hello,
I'm trying to collect parts and info about my future SAS. As SAS are not very (Nor little!) common in Spain, today's question is about driveshafts.
I'll be running Marlin Crawler 5'' leaves in the rear and 4'' ones in the front.
Today I've been in a salvage yard where they've one Hilux with live front axle, like the one I took my axle off. The stock front driveshaft is a double cardan joint one and the right length for a solid axle. Do you think I must buy it? I suppose that maybe it would need to have a long slip yoke welded but it's ok to test and probably modify it?
I've took a pair of pics of it with the cell phone:


What's the difference between this driveshaft and the IFS one? The lenght? Or the flange pattern at the diff side?
Another one is the rear... I won't be putting dual cases. Do you think I'll need to modify the rear driveshaft, put a double cardan joint or a long slip yoke?

An IFS CV shaft can be modifed for more angle:

U-joints can handle more angle than even a modified CV joint and they are shorter overall, so the shaft angle is somewhat less with 2 u-joints and with one and a CV.

Wow, what a lot of possibilities...
Then... I've my stock driveshafts of my 94 4Runner and a long travel slip yoke I've bough with the SAS kit.
What have I to do?
- Shortening the rear driveline and putting the long slip yoke and using it as front DS?
- Clearance front CV shaft and lenghten it and use it in the rear?
I've also the possibility of buying a front CV driveshaft from a solid axled truck...
