Wisconsin trip planned for Labor Day Weekend

Our group is heading up to McCaslin Campground near Lakewood WI. Labor Day Weekend. The trails are cut up and around McCaslin Mt. so there is a bit of everything (rock, stump filled hills, sand, mud, etc.) You will see just about everything there from nearly stock rigs to full on linked buggies. Atv's are welcome too, if you want to cruise around and watch carnage.

***They have clean campsites and a building for , shower, and shave also.

This isn't a special event, just a heads up for anyone who wants to wheel in northern wisconsin.

McCaslin Mt. is open to the public. Vehicle pass should be around $10/day and Campsites are available.

Our group is just a bunch of guys who like to build and abuse their trucks.

The regulars consists of a 2000 TJ (lifted and arb locked), an early 80's Dodge Ram (lifted, locked, dana 60, and custom tube bed), a late 70's ford, a Super Beetle on a early 80's toyota frame with a GM 3800, an early 90's toyota (no lift, welded rear, 35" tires) and my 87 Toyota. There are a few others that go here and there, but usually there are plenty of other groups to watch. Our group is quite diverse to say the least.

Most of the difficult lines have bypasses, so If it looks too crazy you can just go around.

If your vehicle is locked in the rear, you will be able to do the majority of the trails. There a few spots that will require larger tires (35"+) and a nice low crawl ratio. If thats no for you, just watching someone attempt these lines is worth the trip.

Anybody is welcome to bring their atv to cruise around and watch or just go and ride on the trails.

We like this place because it is open 8 months a year to the PUBLIC. They have nice campsites and there is a hotel in the neighboring town of Lakewood if your not the camping type.

These trails are not super hardcore, although some of the possible lines definetely fall into that category.

The plan for Saturday (Aug. 30) is to get on the trails around 9 a.m. If you are serious about going and want to be in our group, PM me. I can help you with a list of things to bring if this is your first time. I will be driving there Sat morning, hoping to leave Wausau around 6 a.m. It takes about 2 hours to get there from Wausau. It is about 95 miles from Wausau.
