Nothing big. Just getting out to make sure 4wd still works.

Click me.

Warning: some non-Toyota content inside.

Looks like a nice relaxing drive in the woods. The Supra vids are cool to. If my eyes aren't playing tricks on me I think I saw something like 621 HP!! If thats right that's about 5 times what my tired old motor makes.

Sometimes I feel like I just "have to" get off-road, even if it's just tooling around on some back roads. I hate having to drive 45 minutes just to get to dirt though.

Yes, that was 621 rear wheel horsepower, which is well close to 750 horsepower at the crank if you factor a 20% power loss in the drivetrain. Many tuners consider the 7M-GTE to be the cheapest engine in the world to get horsepower out of. I like it.

Hi Steve,
I still haven't met up with you on one of the X runs. Someday...

These pics were taken in the canyon between Hwy 50 and Hwy 88. To be honest, I can't describe where the trail is because we kept turning on random roads and secondary trails until we would either hit a gate or end up back on the main road. I would be happy to take you to the general area though...perhaps we should go sometime after the holidays. ???

In case you haven't checked my website, I have led the X group on a couple of trails in the Sierras, like Granite Bowl:

Trip Report

I've heard you join NCCX on occasion too.

I've only been to one NCCX run but I'd like to go on more. They haven't really been doing too much lately.

I get the feeling you're from the sacramento area so the "norcal/bayarea" frank raines or hollister trip is a little far for you huh?

That'd be great to get up in the sierras and explore sometime, specially with somebody who knows the area. If you and the Xterra guys go again, let me know.

I noticed your pismo trips on you page. I'm still trying to get a norcal/socal trip there, but I just haven't had any time. Maybe in early Feb or something.

Hi Steve,
You guessed right, I'm in Sacramento.

I have made the occasional trip to Hollister, but the traffic has gotten so bad in that area that making a day trip out of it is tough. That doesn't mean I'll never go again though.

I am hoping to get out again sometime in early January. It would more than likely be a snow run, which is not my favorite, but I'll let you know when we go.

Pismo is fun, but the 5.5 hour drive each way is not. I have friends that live in the area, so maybe sometime I'll go down and visit them for one or two days and plan a day at Pismo.

I really want to do a death valley trip next spring with a large group. I have never explored the area and I have seen trip reports with some great wheeling photos. It has a mix of everything down there.
