Trail cleanup/PR event

Hey, all you Colorado folk-

As part of my employment with a credit union, I have to complete 2 community service events. I've convinced HR that trail cleanup with a non-profit 4WD club is a PR event. Now the hard part...most the trails are covered with snow. So, does anyone have any recommendations for trail clean up?

that snow does make it a bit more difficult. the only thing that comes right to mind is a pile of old steel from the mining days that was sitting up cascade creek last time i was there. snow still might pose a problem though, i almost slid off the trail while crossing an ice rink that was in the road.
i've never been to lefthand canyon, would it be covered in snow? i hear it's pretty bad with all the people that go up there, mostly shooters leaving shells.

I was also thinking something along the lines of Slaughterhouse. Usually alot of shooters there, too.

Geez, here I thought I'd be doing something easy (and fun) and it's a whole lot more complicated than just putting 4 hours in at the library. :pat:

my friends just went to SH today and i guess it's pretty slick. they hit the trail at about 1 and i got a phone call about 3....<phone breaking in and out> "hey if you don't hear from us by 7, come up here"
that big downhill after stump hill is slick, along with most of the rest of the trail.

if you have to do it now and it can't wait till the snow melts, then if i were you, i would look to other options. a trail cleanup now would almost be silly as far as picking up trash. if you could cut down some trees or chop up downed trees on the trail then that would work but otherwise i don't know.

lets plan an outting and see what happens

Yeah, I kinda got screwed on this one.

At my work, we have to put in 2 four hour PR events. Those PR events count as a percentage towards our annual bonus. I convinced HR to let me do a trail cleanup and they let me. Now, I can't do it because the trails are snowed over and I have 15 days to the end of the year. :pat:

Sorry I am of no help.

I am off the trail til the end of January. Projects and the job hunt are standing in the way.

I would be happy to bust snow after that, but I am not pleased with slip sliding all over everything.
