I'm a "maybe".

There sure were a lot of off-shoots to explore on the way to the summit. I would love to take a peek at the mud-pit also...

As Jerry Garcia used to sing, "...Keep truckin', like the do-dah man..."

Not I.

I will be wheeling in another location Thursday evening, scouting out a spot for some future classes and trying out a few new trails.

Happy Trails to you! Don't do anything I wouldn't do.

Rob,
Takin' a sic day Friday...? ( )

Well, if you are anywhere along I-90 I would join...but my guess is you're heading down off of 410.

...any new plans for your air-compressor situation?...
The do make a DC version of the York that Chrisco has, but I would recommend a dual battery setup for optimum performance.

I have been trying to picture a York in my truck, but it just isn't fitting.

hahaha No such luck. It's business as usual.

Not the I90 corridor OR 410 this time. I am going North and East.

I haven't really given much though to the compressor yet... I am thinkin that a much larger one might end up mounted under my toolbox though... The Oasis was one of the ones I was considering.

Blewitt Pass area...or up in Wenatchee?
(the Wenatchee FS people put out a real nice map...w/4x4 trails marked)

Damn, wish I was retired already. I can tell that when I am retired I will be spending much time exploring and such.

(my father-in-law does just that...only his passion is mushroom-hunting and fishing)

I was looking on the PBB and found info on the (cough) Ford Taurus 3.8 fan~I hope that this solves my heat problem and allows me to go wheeling again soon.

I got my (cough)Ford Taurus fan at Best Auto Parts in Lynnwood for $32

Dude! You have your map on upside down. ;P Wenatchee is almost perfectly East of you and Blewitt is East South East of you.

I will be up in the Boulder Lake area. The closest town would likely be Index hehehe

Been to Index (for shrooms..not trails). I'd like to checkout that area too. Damn...so much land, so little time.

Yeah, my directional sense is based on highways...doh!

I dunno dude...from that pic the shroud is still an issue.

I mentioned this on the run...my wife's 'Runner has an aftermarket radiator (from Performance Radiator, not too sure how the size compares) and the stock fans. In addition to those, it has a single electric fan (for the hot summer days runnin' up a mountain).

As Rob was explainin' your radiator is only as good as what the fan covers. It might as well be the same size as the fan...unless you have the shroud to cover the rest. In my best "mother's" voice..."You need a good shroud to cover that radiator...and you need to call more often..."

If you wax your rig prior to trail riding, you won't incur as many pinstriping.
2001Millrunner's rig is prove of that.

Hey Mike!

It looks like you updated your signature- how much did the new blah cost you? I was looking at putting in a 4.8 Blah, with the new blah-blah, but heard that the upper blah joint tends to wear down the blah caliphers over time. Any thoughts?

yeah i had waxed my 4Runner about 5 days before the run and i didn't have any pinstriping. i still haven't washed it either, but thats cause i drove down to hood on sat so there was no reason. so yeah maybe prewaxing is the key.

Jruz, I am not sure what radiator that fan was on in the pic, but the fan is larger than my 16"Hayden fan and it does have a shroud on it. I haven't gotten a chance to take the radiator out and measure, but from the preliminary measurements, it looks as though the shroud is the same width as the radiator, and only a couple inches shorter in height. I won't get to fit it until Thursday though. I still have to work out the electrical part... the thermostatic fan controller I have only has a 30 amp relay, and I read that this fan on startup (hi-speed mode) draws like 100 amps for a couple milliseconds at least. So I need to find me a 100 amp relay to trigger with the 30 amp one. I tested it, and it really moves a lot of air. The (cough) Ford 5.0 guys with superchargers swear by this fan, so I think that a little 3.0 NA V6 should be no sweat for it. Will keep everyone posted.
