It will smooth out a bit as it gets more traffic, but I would certainly not consider taking a stocker on there as it is.

I will be formally pre-running the trail both directions in a couple of weeks and after that I will have a better idea of what we are in for. The trail changes from year to year, but as the Summer warms up and more 4x4's traverse the pass, it usually smooths out some. At this point, it looks like the motorcycles have been busy because there is a pretty consistent single track down the middle of the trail that you have got to avoid.
As I saw it yesterday, I would say that 3" of lift and a rear locker would be the absolute minimum I would want to take through there and even then it would be a hot, sweaty, seat-puckering experience, even with 100% attention. High clearance bumpers, additional lift, front locker, etc, would help to bring the stress level down some.
I am at 9" of suspension lift, drove carefully and still whacked my skid plate and got into a couple of off camber spots I had to back out of.
Again, I have not run the whole trail yet this year and it usually smooths out a bit, but it is definately rougher than last year.

The weather sure was great for your run, Rob. (I was camping down in that area this past weekend, you either melt in the sun or freeze in the river)
Always that darn "locker" thing making trails a bit more do-able. One of these years I will have to suck it up and get one...

Hope to get a good-sized group to go out, someplace other than Tinkham.
