"Chrome won't get you home!"

Hey now, he should at least know there are two sides the ISR mod story and he should know the risks he's taking. From there, if he decides to do it anyway, more power to him, but he can't blame anyone but himself when things go wrong.

huh? what are the risks for the ISR mod?

Do a quick search on here on "resonator" or "silencer" removal, which is what it was called before someone hung a fancy name on it and you will find a thread that discusses it ad nauseum. There are a ton of links in that thread to articles describing the mod and it's possible benefits and downsides.

The short of it is that those chambers are not just there to smooth the intake air, but also to collect moisture and allow it to be vaporized off rather than being sucked into your engine in liquid form.

It's an old mod that has been around for years, but in my opinion it does not belong a rig that goes off road and you won't find me doing it.

Others on here feel differently and will likely continue to do so until someone drowns an engine and it's attributed to that mod. Doing a search on Google and reading the experiences of those who have played with this mod long before it came to YotaTech and have abandoned it is enough for me.

I am a no front flap kinda guy, as well as rolling in a Tacoma, so I won't be much help there, it's not something I have ever looked for.

But, you are in the right place to ask that question. There are a lot of rabid 4Runner fans running around this place.

You may want to start a seperate thread for that question so it get a bit more exposure I am sure you will have an abundance of possiblities laid before you.

BTW, nice job last night. On that hill climb, you earned that "wheelbarrow" to haul your, er, uh, "grit and determination" around in

/me applauds, nicely done, nicely done. I hope you will be joining us again soon.

I got mine from G.I. Joe's for $8.99. There's one up in Lynwood, which is up at where 405 and I-5 meet.

I have some quick words about them here:

Kevin,

People are nuts about pics on this board. I swear, if you added a pine air freshener to your rear view mirror, people would be happy for you, and want to see pics. Its good for your ego, but can be very bad for your wallet.

That's WATRD's, ("Rob"). I think I overheard him say it was a custom piece done by a buddy, but I'm sure he'll pop in.

Hmm... actually, from looking at the pictures, I suspect he is talking about Greg's Tacoma. There's a good shot of his skid on te writeup page, but none where mine is clearly visible.

Jim, look for "Gbost" on here.
