im thinking about going to this anyone else feel like they might be up to it..... i'm sure it's a wait in line snail crawl but it sounds like fun and if you bust something i'd much rather be with a group of yota's instead of jeeps.... either that or lets try to get our own rubicon run going

We (The Spankers) will be at the 2006 Rubithon. We already have the dates and a thread going.

How equipped do you have to be to run these trails?

You had better take a few steps back. Your jokes are extremely offensive to us and I am reporting you in this thread. We do not appreciate this one bit. This is tiresome and needs to stop.
You are intentionally doing this, it is not a joke.

I would think, based upon numerous trip reports, and magazine articles, as well as trail rating sites, that the MINIMUM to run this trail without getting dragged over EVERY obstacle and a ton of stacking would be 33's and a rear locker. I would think 35's and two lockers could see you through comfortably. Then again, i'm sure someone has done it with a stock truck, but i would think you'd need winch assistance in many areas.

depends on a lot of factors, time of year being one of the biggest.
early in the summer season the trail is at it's hardest and as the year progresses rocks get stacked and all the mud and water dries up.
early in the season expect to have at least 2 lockers and 33's. Low gearing helps A LOT here. I can't particularly say what the minimum for the later part of the season would be, but I can assume the requirements would be less.

based on my passenger perspective on running the trail, ^ that's some good advice.
some beefy skid plates and bumpers (esp rear) help too.

Steve
I think the originator was talking about Rubithon 2006 TLCA. It is in June.
I am actually thinking about doing this as well. I have not decided as of yet but would probably go in Wednesday night and chill at the springs for the rest of the weekend.
Anyone else going?
