Red Cone, Radical Hill, Glacier Ridge, SOB Run-9/18/04
I'm leading another Rising Sun run and would like to invite the YotaTech Boys.
Date: Sat, Sept. 18th
Meeting Place: Take Hwy 285 west. About 5 miles past the small town of Grant turn right on County Rd. 60. Continue on the dirt road for about 7 miles and meet near the main road, near the campground, before the Webster\Red Cone junction. See map. We can air down here. The meeting spot is about an hour from West Denver. Low Res Map
Time: Meet between 9-9:30am. We will leave at 9:30. Catch us on channel 4 if your late.
Chances are there may be snow on Red Cone. If that is the case then we will take Webster Pass instead of Red Cone.
Trail Description: I would say Red Cone and Radical Hill are Moderate in terms of your vehicle and Difficult in terms of driver skill and confidence. Both are at very high altitude and have extreme exposure. Yet the road surface is not that bad. A moderately built vehicle will drive these roads pretty easily and yet give the driver quite a thrill. This is probably not for stock vehicles. Another trail description is here:link to trail damage.com
Optional Trail: Missouri Gulch\SOB Hill rock garden. This is a difficult. Similar in difficulty to the Spring Creek rock garden. You will want a locker and armor etc. at least. This is my favorite trail. It ends up on top of Georgia Pass. We will then return to I70 via Breckenridge.
Once we get on top of Glacier Ridge, after Radical Hill, if you did not want to complete the rock garden, you could still continue with us all the way down to Swan Ck., and return home via Breckenridge.

At out last meeting, Greg told me he wouldn't be able to make on account of his Scout activities. I know you know what that's about.
Glad you going to make it. You can peel off and head down the trail anytime.
