Quick Fishin trip in CO

First off, Does anybody know if this time of year I'd be able to go up to Lake Loch Lomond or Bill Moore lake?

And second, If that is possible, I just thought I'd point out that I'll be headed up there on wednesday is the weather is nice. If anybody would like to join they'd be welcome to. It'll just be me and a couple of friends going up for a half day.

Things up in the high country can change in a matter of minutes, especially during spring. That's what catches many in Denver, especially tourists or recent arrivals, off gaurd when they go to the mountains and then they get stuck w/o basic gear for dealing with the conditions.

Since it seems loch lomond is out of the plan, does anybody know if the fishing is good at bill moore? And is the trail okay to do by myself if nobody joins me? My runner is pretty much stock. I've never been up there before and I don't wanna get up there only to find out theres nothing else to do but wheel.

I fished Bill Moore once. It was no good. Real shallow, and I saw no sign of any fish. Plus, you certainly wouldn't want to drive the shelf road decent down to the lake this time of year.

I would suggest Chinns Lake up Fall River rd., or that other reservoir up there (if you take the rt. fork).

No, you need to check it out on the map. There is a sign way back in there at the fork in the road with signs pointing to the two lakes. You turn left off the fall river hwy at the second big switchback. Where the full size pick-up with snow cat tracks is parked. Then back on that main road for several miles to the sign I was talking about. I think the name of the other lake is Fall River Res.
