Well, I mean, I didn't expect to get this good of a response but yeah, whoevers up to it let just set a date thats good with anyone. My schedules open as I live in Hazleton (for the college year), I'd be a bit weary about weekdays though as most of you would too I'm sure. The group ride at Paragon is on the 4th and 5th, so that could be an option too. Its up to you, I'm wide wide open.
Alright, so if the fall colors ride at GWNF is gonna be a place to be for you jackson than just post the date of that ride, and we'll just work around it.
Another issue is trail difficulty, which I didn't reallly think about. Take me for example. I'm mid experienced in offroad riding but I'm more stock than celery, so no lift-no performance mods (except for new tires and 4WD). Some of you look a bit more complex than I, and I'm sure a 300 mile drive or something similar isn't worth it for newb trails.

I am planning a multi-club trailride to Rausch Creek on Sept. 17-19. If this Paragon trip doesn't materialize, and if anybody wants to join us there, you're more than welcome. RC is about 1 hour south of Paragon.
Here is a thread from VA TTORA where we are planning the trip. There should be a wide variety of rigs: some stockers, some moderately built trucks, and maybe a truggy or two.
Also, for those of you who are interested in some real easy wheeling in VA (but a good, fun weekend) here is the GWNF Fall Colors thread on 4x4Wire.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing! I drove past there this week but don't have the 4Runner out with me.

I don't know how fast you drive but 1 hour South of Paragon is Harrisburg, and more like 3 or 4 hours south is DC, so I'm pretty sure RCs a hella-f-a-lot further away... but thats me and my 75 mph driving.

Rausch Creek is about 3 hours form Washington, and Paragon is closer to 4. Going up I-81, RC is at exit 107, and PAP is at exit 143, so I guess they're only about 45 minutes apart.
Anyway, we'll be at Rausch Creek on 9/18 if anybody wants to go.

Here are some pics from Rausch Creek a couple of weeks ago. These are the intermediate trails. My junk is the blue flatbed. Click here for more pics.

I'll be going for the second time with some friends. Green- blue 1 if any one wants to go on 9-11-04. Stock Rubicon, an old CJ-7 with 33 and a 3" lift, pair of stock ZR2, etc. Experienced wheelers with stock type vehicles- may scrape frame occasionally.
wait till you guys read my next post

Anyone interested in the following weeks? Not this weekend but the next would be ideal for me.... if not then I see myself going the first weekend of October with the crowd. Ideas?

yea... let's nail something down and go. How's the weekend of the 25th/26th sound? Sunday is better for me, but...
We only need 3 rigs to run the park without a guide. If we get a guide, we'll probably spend more time on the trials and less time looking for trails, but it's also pretty expensive. I'd be interested in trying out some blue 1-2 type trails... but I'm not sure how I'll fare.

I'm up for anything... if you tell me the 25th then the 25th it is. I agree that the Sunday would be better for me as well.
As for the trail (you suggested blue), I don't know what the requirements for the blue trail is. I'm stock... but experienced, and all I can find about the Blue Trail is, "Moderate Trail."
I've got a '94 4x4 Runner, btw... so thats gonna fair well on its own I think, but I don't expect to come out shining. So besides the trail difficulty, if blue has any, then I'm fine with the 25-26th. Let me know.

I was just up there again this past weekend. We had a Rubicon and a pair of 03 GMC ZR2. The biggest benefit for the trucks was that they remove the front bumper cover. I don't think you'll fair well on Blues with a stock height 4Runner unless you can remove the front bumper. Additionally the drop offs on the Blues will probably cause you to scrape your rear bumper as well. If you are alright with that I say gove it hell.
If that sounds too ambitious, I would probably give the Greens a try.
My personal recommendation for a stock vehicle's first time out at Paragon is to run trail 11 to 42 to 90 to 71 to 88 to 32 and back up 7 (after 12:30 obviously).
