In Maryland, Green Ridge State Forest is probably the best legal place to go. It is an 18-mile ridge loop trail and is stock-friendly but still very fun. It is located in Flintstone, MD on I-68 between Hancock and Cumberland.

In fact, a sizable group of us are going tomorrow (most in FJ cruisers) so if you see this in time and can make it, email me at justin(at)jfoobar(dot)com

Also, George Washington National Forest (Virginia) is not too bad of a drive as well as Rausch Creek and Paragon in PA. There are also some legal trails around Deep Creek in western MD but I haven't been there yet.

i went up to greenridge, it was nice, but some sections were very tight. but over all it's a pretty cool place to go. there is one bank that rises about 4 feet on 1 side, i don't know about you'all but it made me nervous.

the watershed is by gambrill state park, i don't know of a website, but there really isn't much there, but it's all i have.

The best fun there for me so far is the powerline trail, but it is officially closed so if they catch you on it it is a $175 fine. I did it once in a stock FJ before we realized it was closed (someone had knocked over the sign).
