In Maryland, Green Ridge State Forest is probably the best legal place to go. It is an 18-mile ridge loop trail and is stock-friendly but still very fun. It is located in Flintstone, MD on I-68 between Hancock and Cumberland.
In fact, a sizable group of us are going tomorrow (most in FJ cruisers) so if you see this in time and can make it, email me at justin(at)jfoobar(dot)com |
Also, George Washington National Forest (Virginia) is not too bad of a drive as well as Rausch Creek and Paragon in PA. There are also some legal trails around Deep Creek in western MD but I haven't been there yet.

i went up to greenridge, it was nice, but some sections were very tight. but over all it's a pretty cool place to go. there is one bank that rises about 4 feet on 1 side, i don't know about you'all but it made me nervous.
the watershed is by gambrill state park, i don't know of a website, but there really isn't much there, but it's all i have. |
