Actually, it ended up about where I expected it to. I kept getting stuck on that last rock (the one on the left that everyone was getting stuck on, where you gunned it ).
Rob hooked up the winch and yanked me over it, thought all was well, unhooked, and dug into the hill so well I wasn't rolling backwards... without brakes applied, and out of gear...
She overheated like a mutha trying to get out of that (250+ degrees on the gauge!!!). Rob reapplied the winch, and I was at the top in no time

No damage noted yet from the overheating... Added water when she cooled off, and she cruised just fine at ~70mph all the way home, and never got over the 190 mark.

Ray,
You saw how I did, with slight lift decent mud-terrain tires, and no-locker.
I think the key for that hill is a locker...that's the only way to make it look semi-easy.
After I've done it once, I don't think I'll be doing it anymore. I can make it, but I don't want to keep putting wear-n-tear on my rig just for what's past it. I'm sure I'll take it on again, once I get that locker.

Jim,
I think I'm going to have to cancel. My trip to Alaska is back on track, after a hitch with work screwed my original trip. The plan is to leave early (4 AM) Friday morning (the 29th) and return September 5th. It was sort of a last minute decision, so now I'm scrambling to get everthing packed. Sooooo to make a long excuse longer, I need the time to get ready. My apologies.
I will be going to the 4ROC meeting beforehand.

Yes, it's belt driven, with *TONS* of write ups on the net on how to do it... www.onboardair.com sells kits for J**ps and full sized rigs... I can't remember if they've got anything for Yota's or not (sorry, I run a 327 SBC
in the Cruiser, so Toyota setups typically aren't even in mind when I go looking for stuff
)York Pic 1 York Pic 2
York Pic 3
The really cool thing with that setup is... The more gas you give it, the more air it give you
