Hollister Run :: Saturday, Sept. 11

I'll be at Hollister on the 11th. Look for my red rig cruising around with a YotaTech.com sticker on the rear window. I'll be on CB channel 4. If you have any questions, post them here.

Major bummer.. Perhaps a better angle would have prevented this. Looks like he bashed it on the rock and then twisted it under power. Where was his spotter????

Was that a jeep pulling him out? Looks like you had some fun out there.

The Wrangler winched him out. I pulled him back to camp and then to the park entrance to meet the tow truck. Thank God for AAA coverage - 100 miles got him back home to San Jose. We played on Fermontia both up and down. Played on some unmarked trails and cruised up to Hector Heights. We decided to go to the obstacle course for lunch and by 1:30-2:00 he had broken his rear shaft so our day was cut short. It all added up to a fun afternoon - he wasn't bummed about his drive shaft, but rather bummed about his driver side door that got wedged into the sand when he got winched out.

He took a decent angle, but a rock turned under him and he slipped onto the shaft. Me and another person nearby told him he was sitting on it, but he kept trying to get out under his own power.
