Having fun in Moab

Well, the weekend is over, and I made it back home safe. Over the weekend, Flygtenstein, Schaeffer, ABQJim, Mike Brown, myself and all associated family members decided to hit up Moab for some playing in the rocks. Check out this picture, and click on the picture to see my homepage with more shots.

very well, I would say. No carnage. A few scraped bumpers, I even scraped mine, but all went very well.

The asphalt

Actually, Moab does have some easier trails, ya just gotta find them. Mike Brown has a book of trials that are in Moab. Some of these pics are alternate routes that Schaefer and I tackled.

Great Pics...I hope to head out for the TLCA event next spring.

Also, I have heard of stacking rocks to get over an obstacle..BUT SWEEPING THE TRAIL Was that Schaefer in the picture with the broom? Does he have special mounting brackets on the top of his rig for the broom

Schaefer if your out there...back to work on those bumpers!

Adrian's rig is STILL in the ORS shop. Adrian was bummed that he couldn't be driving his own rig, so he rode shotgun in mine. When he wasn't riding, he was spotting. When I wasn't driving, my wife was driving (especially on the really hard stuff).

Yeah, Schaeffer was sweeping Double Whammy clean. He wanted to make sure he got some good traction on this one. I broke an axle stubb on Double Whammy last year, and this year, I bumped right up, before the street sweeper Schaefer did his work.....

We were all giving him a hard time about that, but I'm sure his wife was pleased that he did do it, and didn't break anything.

I gotta tell ya all. Schaeffer's tires look really big, compared to mine. Despite his tires only being an inch bigger (on paper), they looked a lot bigger.

Schaeffer found the perfect bumping gear; I think it was low, and 2nd gear, or something like that. I don't know, but in Moab, ya gotta bump lots and lots of obstacles to get up them. Jim was really hessitant about getting up an obstacle, for fear of busting out his passneger rear quarter window. But, after some coaching, and giving the right bump distance, he powered right up.

I think Brown did most of the trail unlocked, as he stated to us on the CB. He has a rear locker, but used it sparingly.

Uh oh, I may have let the cat out of the bag. I didn't know it was a top secret thing, if it was supposed to be a top secret thing. Well, let it be known, its in the shop for some work. I know the details, but I better not give anymore info, before he has a chance to spill the beans.
