Greenwater tomorrow

Jim, his wife, and I are leaving my place at 7 am  for an early drive up to forest road #73 in the morning.

This is going to be a drive mainly upto the top of Suntop mountain at the lookout station.
Good veiws of Mt. Rainier will be the reward

Might do a little exploring, but not much.
We will be on channel 4 if anyone comes up later that way.

I'm not staying long, and will probably be back on the highway by noon to head home.

Damn Corey,
Tomorrow would have been a good day to meet you guys up there. Im finally getting off my butt and go to Badlands to check out Jeff's sliders. He's in PDX but I was able to talk to his wife. She advised that they may have a 3gen sliderz for my truck already made. She's going to get a hold of Jeff tonight to verify and call me in the morning so I could take a look at them.

Hell who knows, I might get a wild hair up my ass and meet you guys anyway. If not be careful of LAWNMOWER MAN!

Are you guys meeting anywhere specific?

Hi Gene, we are meeting at my home at 7 am, then just driving straight up there.
But we will both have the CBs on.

This was a spur of the moment thing I had last night to do.
We don't plan on spending to much time up there though like I mentioned in the first post.
But if you get up there early enough, you might run into us up there.

You will be amazed at all the Toy's Jeff has at his shop.
Be sure to check out the white 1st gen in the shop they are fixing up to put up for sale.
It's an '85, 22RE EFI. Just needs some paint, and it will be an awesome looking trail rig.

I think you meant to say "Mike" instead of "Gene" but we know who you were talking to.

Speaking of Mike; haven't seen you in a while! Gonna to do the slider thing? I am seriously considering this myself. But I must say that a mod that requires welding makes me a bit nervous. I am having a hard time deciding between new sliders and new "used" BFG MUD KM's. What's the asking price on those Badland bad boys anyway? Are they painted etc or do they come raw? Where is Badland? It's someone working out of their house isn't it? When are you going? Need a tag along?

I guess I shound't hi-jack the thread but I figure it's after 7am! Heh-heh.

Enough questions!

I thought about hooking up with you Corey, but 7am was a bit too early for me. Saturday is usually the only day I sleep in - and that's only until 7:30!

Yes, I did mean Mike It was early Gene.
Gene, you can't go wrong with Badland Bumpers gear.
He is out in the boonies, probably closer to you than me.
You have to go out on the Covington road through Ravensdale, then where the Y in the road is if you stay on it you go to Kanasket Palmer state park, you want to take the Y to the left.

He's a few miles up that road, then on the left down a dirt private road.
He will paint them for you if you desire. Check out how Dok's sliderz tuned out in the Sliderz roundup.
He painted them himself though.

Anyway, Mike...Suntop road was closed
How did you guy's get up there all the way? It was gated about 1 mile or so from the top.
We stopped and yakked with a couple of guy's that had a white '85 Toy (solid axle, yummmmm), then Jim, Trudie, and I left there and did FS #72 and followed it 15 miles where it intersects with FS #70.

We did a little exploring along the way. Excellent views of Mt. Rainier as you will see by the pics here.
I'll put up a webpage later when I get time to do all the coding.
But for now, here is the folder the pics & vids are in.

I had fun going down this one steep hill. The rig felt really light, and the next thing I know I'm rocking back and forth. I was only on 3 wheels. Weirdest sensation it was

Tried going back up the same hill, but you really need a locker on it as the tires were just digging into the soft stuff and spinning.
Maybe if I had aired down to about 15 PSI I might have made it up.
But coming down it was most fun. Had to do it a few times.

Next time we are going to hit #72 again, but we pan on being on it at 5 am. Mt. Rainier ought to look marvelous with the sunrise hitting it, as there are a few vantage points along #72.

Had a great time, and I think Jim really appreciates having a nice CB radio now.
Corey

PS, there is now a post up that has the HTM page with all the pics & vids on it.

Hey Guys,
Glad you had a good time up there today. I noticed the hat. Good thing.
Nice pics man. You really can't get enough of that mountain can ya. Im always in awe everytime I see it.
I thought the gate was always open during the summer. Mmm they must have opened it for the race.

Well I waited around for Jeff's wife to call but to no avail. I decided to call but I kept getting a recording for
Industrial Task Incorporated. I tried three or four times but kept getting the same recording.
Gene, believe me If Jeff's wife called back I would've been trying to get a hold of you so we could check them out. It really bummed me out.

Thanks Mike, it was a great day to see the mountain.
That recording you got is Jeff's main business.

He inspects huge machenery for companies wanting to bid on them.

Bummer his wife was gone. I wonder if they are going to be around today?

I'll have to call the forest service and find out why they gate that now as I was really looking forward to getting to the look out station.
