Going to the rubicon. What do I need?

So me and my local Toyota group are planning a trip for the end of this month to the rubicon. Ill be taking up my 1986 runner on 33's and a locked front end. I have about a two inch lift, sliders, arb front bumper and rear tube bumper. I know many of you have been there. Do you guys think I can get through without much body damage and in one piece? Or is it gonna be a rough weekend? Also, any other opinions on what I should bring will also be appreciated!

its gonna be a rough weekend... your truck sounds ready for different trails... such as deer valley, or eagle lakes.

You can make it depending on how experienced you are and how good your spotters are. However, it will not be an easy ride, if you're with other rigs that are built 35's lockers f/r etc they are going to be dragging you around and waiting on you in lots of places they just cruize through...but, if they're your buddies and they don't mind at all, I say go for it...just make sure you have spare parts for your front end, and put yourself in the middle of the pack with winches in front and behind you incase you get stuck. Oh and prepare to burn that clutch up unless you have gearing in the t case!

That said, there are plenty of sections of the Rubicon you would have a lot of fun on ie wentworth springs and the slabs if not everyone is going through the whole way

Well I'm going with 8 or 9 different trucks most are either solid axel with 33's and gearing or they have solid axel swaps. Most of the trucks are open front and rear though. However, mos other places we've gone I've drug them around and I've usually found the better line and what not. I figured maybe a couple cv joints and a tire or two... Sound about right? I'm just trying not to trash the truck to much, or is that not an option?

Yea iwas defiantly thinking extra cv's. I just don't wanna inflict to much body damage. Parts are easily repairable body damage is not

x2 on the clutch burning during your trip. A good spotter will keep the bumps and bruises away from your body panels. Your armor sound decent. have fun, take lots of pics.
