Florida wheeling?
#1
Anyone for doing some wheeling in Florida. I am based near the Tampa area and want to plan an offroading trip this winter. All vehicles will be welcome (I'll bring my heep). I was thinking around the withalacochee area or ocala national forest. Im not sure of a time and date. But list some good times to go for anyone able to go.

Ok.....the last time I was in Florida the person that pick'd us up from the airport was my wife's friend's boyfriend Hector the collector-some cuban dude- leaving the airport I ask'd him "what is the highest elevation here" he said "jue on it" - we were going over a highway overpass from Miami International!!
So tell me - where is there to wheel in Florida? and what is the elevation? or is it just muddin??

There are a lot of areas to wheel in Florida. We just dont have any hills. There are a lot of sink holes that make up for that and huge phosphate mines. Yeah most of our wheeling involves mud. But when you combine that with tight trails and things get interesting. Also there are some sand dunes to play in. Some of the best places Ive been are in Ocala and around the Gainsville-north Florida area. I think that the highest elevation is around 300 ft

Sure anyone is welcome to come with us. I just did some offroading with a 2x tacoma yesterday. It was interesting to see someone stand on the rev limter like he did to get out of some of the mud holes. Email me some time and maybe we can get together and check out each others rides. akbridge@mail.usf.edu

Hey, I'm new but should have a 3rd gen 4wd stock 4Runner within a week or two and would be interested. I'd like to meet some of the local guys in hopes of mod tips, finding good repair shops, wheeling buddies etc. You can email me at harper3@mail.usf.edu. I'm in also in Tampa, just north of USF. Thanks

Awwwwww Man.
I'm going on a road trip to New Orleans that weekend with my old buddie from highschool. I haven't seen them in forever, so I'm definately locked into that.
I hope you guys have fun so that you'll plan something again soon. I'll defiantely be in for whatever is next.

ooh ooh I'll be in florida then... just not with the truck. I fly into WPB Intl. 10pm on Saturday, I'll be in Okeechobee on the 14th. I was going to say if you guys want to find a place to go, you all might want to try to contact someone in between sebring and Okeechobee. There is alot of farmland out there that you guys might be able to ask to use. I know the "prarie" as they call it down there is a big place that alot of people go to ride dirt bikes and offroad. I just don't know where it's at.

Thanks but we already have plans to go to Ocala. But if you wanted to come up for a day email me and I will give you my cell so that you can call me to find out where we are. As of right now there are two jeeps, a military 6x6, some different model pickups, a few dirt bikes, quads, and two mini bajas. So anyone is welcome. Just email me if you want to go.
