Front case has the same gearing as 2 stock cases.

Yeah, I'm scared of this thing getting much larger than 30 or so vehicles. Besides, it's really a PITA to find a place that works as a group campground with enough 4x4 trails nearby to satisfy the full range of abilities and mods.

That's cheating to call it 2 cases.

Your front case is 2.56 x 2.56 = 6.55 gearing??? I thought the Marlin case for 3rd gens was something closer to 2:1. How do you get to you 200-whatever number anyway?

Sorry Jeff, I hit the wrong button. It should be back how you had it now.

That's the AZ math he's using. 4.7x2.56=221.

I'm sure it's going to be his transmission x his transfer x his Marlin transfer x his differential.

That is way cool that Mike is coming.

I saw the buggy when I was in town and it was way cool in person. My runner has dreams of growing up to be like that. I think that the pic you posted was a different rig unless it has lost a huge chunk of boy in the last month.

I think that it is awesome that he is going to be there for a couple of days. Last year when I stopped at AOR, they thought it was funny that they had not heard of what was going on.

Around 12 hours and I am outy!

And as far as the math, I think it goes as follows:

2.28 x 4.7 x 5.29 x 2.something for first gear and then I am missing a factor of 2 somewhere, but he is at 252 to one and it works pretty awesome! There is a complete post of the math on ODW.

Yeah, I know well how to calculate it. His first gear must be around 3.55 then. I'm just surprised that a 4.7 is in front of the chain driven stock case. Got a spare chain?

To answer another question that was sent to me via e-mail, there is LOTS of space at the upper campground parking lot for trailers and tow rigs. (There will probably be a couple trailers).

Dick Foster who drives alot like you, broke the main shaft in the case, not the chain or the crawler. Marlin was quite prowd of this and said that nothing would have stood up to Fosters abuse.

I have an e-mail in to the person who calculated it all out, the Tacoma case is lower than the old junk stock cases. You'll see it in a few days, prepare for a spankin !!!

Well, I managed to keep my tradition alive and sneak in 1 "mod" before the Jam (first years was my sliders, last years was my MTR's)

This years isn't quite a mod to the truck - but it will definately help out...

I now have gas. The best part is - with my Hooter's girl hookup The CO2 tank (filled) and regulator were FREE!! My total cost for the entire set up...$30 with airhose and airchuck with tire guage.

John

Congrats, John! That's going to be real nice. I recently got some onboard air myself, but spent a few more dollars than you.

My Hooter's girl didn't get me one! What's up with that??

Did you hear the rule that CO4RJ participants are expected to provide free air to their trip leaders? (especially on runs to Wheeler Lake)

On the serious side, very cool. Way to go!

Steve,

Is your Hooter's girl coming with you? Or your Hooter's offspring?

I actually have to teach a software training class in the morning in Fort Collins. Then I have a few misc things to take care of in Denver in the afternoon. The way things typically go with me, I'll probably get out of Denver around 5:00 or so. So I'll probably get there about 7-7:30. I'm really looking forward to this.
