no.

According to Marlin, you need to take out the rear shaft.

If the front is on the ground only, then just unlock the hubs and you'll be fine.

Only need to pull the rear shaft if the rear is on the ground, or you're flat towing.

So, you need to pull the rear shaft.

Yeah, you need to remove the rear shaft. I found out the hard way . I bought a 85 mini in Durango once, and picked it up at night, I must have pulled it 1/4 mile with the rear tires locked up, so I trashed the rear tires

I'll post my status tomorrow.
Forget this post, I'm there

I'll be working my a$$ off today getting the rest of the house cleaned up. I won't be able to get the front fenders trimmed out on the 4Runner so I'll probably end up taking the front fenders off

Just to clarify, the 45 minutes was from the camp area where everyone else is camping east of Buena Vista, not from Taylor Park Reservoir.

Just for clearification:

I will be ariving Friday late morning or early afternoon.
I would like to do any of the following at whatever times work best:

Boulder Mountain
Chinaman Gulch
Grizzly Lake
Iron Chest
Mount Antero
Mount Princeton
Tincup Pass
Wheeler Lake

Unless the majority vote is that it would be wise to stay away from something with my current rig.

I'll have both now also.

How about channel 12 on both FRS and CB for the gathering area, and channel 10 on both for the group heading to the St. Elmo area, once on the road?

Since not every one will necessarily have subchannel/codes on their FRS, we'll use code/subchannel 0.

You shouldn't have any problem with Boulder Mtn, Antero, Tincup, Princeton, Haven't driven the others yet, so don't know about them. Last time I was up Antero, a locker would have been real handy. I hear that it's been "repaired" since. I'm on the same size tires you are, just locked front, geared w/ winch.

I am definitely out.
My cracked rib is killing me.

I do have a request! Rising Sun 4x4 Club needs a .gpx of Iron Chest Road. Would one of you fellas running that route mind logging it and sending me the .gpx please? We want to submit it to the USFS and COAo4WDC. PM me if so, and I will give you my contact info.

And thanks in advance!! Have a great time...

Sorry to hear about your accident, hope you feel better.

If we run Iron Chest, I'll see if somebody can take a GPS and we'll route it.

Kevin (poorboyota26) just called and here's where he is getting a campsite

"I will try and get the camp site that is closest to 315 and 376 intersection. For those of you getting there after dark look for the paper plates with the arrows and the glow sticks. I'll be on channel 7 on the CB. The camp site will be taped off with pink tape"

Basically take 315 west several miles to the intersection of 315/376 or until you see a big group of Toyota's

He also recommends anybody towing to take 305 to 376 and down 376 to 315. The road is better for people towing.

Once again, here's the map of the area we are camping

OK, I guess we're using channel 7 for the camp area.

Thanks very much!

The kicker is, I cracked it riding my Buell offroad, Cascade Creek above Idaho Springs, a month ago. Thought it was a bruise. Then we go wheeling last weekend at Jenny Creek for some volunteer work with the USFS, and Monday my rib is killing me. Doctor felt around, said I cracked it (not broken through, just a fracture). So no 4 wheeling for Uncle Bill for a few weeks.

GPS of the campsite
N38 51.479 W106 03.380

Take 315 to the intersection and turn left on 376. The campsite will be right there!!!

If you copy and paste those coordinates into Google Maps, it will show you exactly where the campsite is located.
