Dates: Early August always is good. Before kids go back to school, still warm out, but enough separation from the 4th of July holiday and Labor Day.

What about August 1st, 2nd, and 3rd? That's a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, first weekend of August.

NAXJA is holding their "Coloradofest" July 13th-19th. I know there are other groups as well, Isuzus, Broncos, etc... that utilize the BV area also.

Campground - How does Chalk Creek work for everyone? I like the cheapness of the group tent sites

I know I started the thread talking about CO4RJ but I'm not sure if I can be the one to fully organize it. I would be happy to help out in anyway I can between chasing my 2.5 year old daughter and 8 week old son

Is July 15 (Tuesday) the correct date. Seems like these events in the past have been on the weekends. Maybe July 18th - 20th...

No, when I first setup the post it requires a date so I just stuck in middle of July. Sorry about that. I will change it once we pin down a date

You have a spot in my camp no matter what, should you choose to accept. I'll gladly feed you beer and BS around the fire.

Indeed.

We used to go to CO for at least a week every summer... but that was back when mountain biking was my "religion". Always hung around Summit County, even lived there for 5 months or so.

Very anxious to get back and wheel some trails. I am hopeful I'll be able to coordinate days off at work to achieve the trip. Even if we can only do a day or two of the actual event.

Another thought on the campground. Maybe we should look for a free place to camp rather than Chalk Creek. That way we could be as loud as we want and stay up as late as we want and not feel that we are being rude to other campers in the campground. There are tons of places to camp around the BV area. We just need to find something to hold everyone and easy access to the highways (not have to drive 20-30 minutes on a backroad to get to camp).

Any ideas?? Anyone want to help plan it?

Maybe this could be a dry run for the Wheelers for the Wounded event in '09...
