Most people would say absolutely never go in a mine. I'd certainly trust a natural cave more than a mine just because I figure its been there a long time so the odds of it caving in during the time I'm there are low. But many (including myself) have at least stuck our head in mine shafts and lived to tell about it. You just don't know when things will go wrong. Just be careful, watch your head and where you're walking in case they decided to dig straight down.

GPS coordinates would seem to be an excellent way of letting someone know where you're going because then you don't have to try to write directions that may be hard to follow (unless there are a multitude of ways to get there). Place names like Lake Whats Its Name aren't always good enough either, since many times there are several with the same name.

Of course, after saying all that, I've been out hiking a number of times without someone knowing where I was because there wasn't anyone handy to tell and I figured there would be other people on the trail. Sometimes I've left a note at home, but haven't even been consistent with that.

Ducky, re: Jowie, I have an extra stock spare tire that I have no use for. He can have it.

For everyone else, I am working until 2am Sunday morning but should still be able to make it, but if you don't see my tired carcass by 9am, go ahead and head out.

Isn't it time to start planning for our november meeting? I understand it would have to be around thanksgiving time, but I am sure we can all work something out!

The run tomorrow will sort of be our "unofficial" meeting for the month, We could do something right at the beginning of December. With the holidays, I think alot of us are going to be pretty busy.

Guys, at this point I am only 50/50 whether I will make it. I had to replace my left side axle (torn boot) and took the opportunity to do some other maintenance work while I was in there. The only thing I have left to do is get the tires back on, but I haven't been able to assemble my kit yet or finish the sundry clean-up chores. I have to go meet my brother's family now for dinner (for those of you who thought I still had plenty of time left in the day!) and don't know if I'll be back before it is too late. I may end up working from 10pm-2am as well, and just don't know if I'll have the time to get everything done!

No problem Sott, if we don't see you by 9:20, we'll assume you're not going to make it.
