okay I just rsvp's for the camp site!

Getting there:
Take I-10 east (State Hwy 330) to Running Springs, CA. Take State Hwy 18 to Big Bear Lake Dam. Do not cross Dam. Go straight on SH-38 to Fawnskin and left on Rim of the World Drive (3N14) for 1.2 miles to 2N13. Follow 2N13 for a short distance to the campground.

Fees:
Camp fee: 130
Rsvp fee: 9
total: 139 (damn doesn't this hurt...)
Depending on how many actually show up our group camp fees will change.

Those of ya that don't have the adventure pass, it might be a good idea to get em. I got mine at REI (27 for the first primary card and 4 for the secondary card). Only needed if you part your truck outside on the trail itself. But if it is inside the campsite, it's not required (that's my understanding).

Anyway, can't wait till bear

 

Adventure passes are needed if you park anywhere in San Bernardino National Forest. So, it is a good idea to just get it. The pass is $27 for one whole year, so it is worth it.

The pass is valid for:
San Bernardino NF
Angeles Crest NF
Cleveland NF
Los Padres NF

This pretty much covers the entire So. Cal. The rangers do go out and ticket people. I've seen it myself.

 

I think someone said they are also available at Sports Chalet? There's one of those by my work I can hit up tomorrow if that's the case.

 

i think its $5 for a days adventure pass.

I won't be able to camp either, gotta work Sunday morning I should be up for Saturday though. Do I need to get myself and adventure pass or is that only for overnighter's?

 

the adventure pass is only required if you stay on the trail and park and leave (or sleep i.e. outside the camp site).

aside from that, if you're here to just have fun on the trails, then there's no need for ya to get em

I'm very keen, but at this stage I can't separate from the family as we have been apart for nearly six months due to work in different countries so I don't want to get lynched having just got back together!

i almost always bring my daughter (six) and now my son (two). everyone is great with kids too bad i'm not going to make this one because my kids just love it when other kids come along

 

I would love to bring my son, but I don't think I want to be changing diapers and offroading at the same time.

 

If I can go, I'm bringing my two sons...6 and 8.
Infact, my wife insist on it.l.....LOL

 

I'm bringing my girlfriend. Someone has to give me a hard time about scratches or getting stuck.

 

I'll try and make it up there friday night, but I get off work at 5:30 pm in Oxnard. By the time I get home and packed it'll be past 8pm, the earliest I'd make it would be around midnight...

directions are relavitely easy.

It's relatively easy to find. I should be leaving here 60/71 interchange around 7 or 8 and try to be up by 9-10. But most likely 11. crossing fingers ofcourse

 

I'm hoping to have Friday and Monday off. Any other Diegos going up Friday?

 

Unfortunatly I still have to work that Sat, so I will not be going to that run. I will be going to Big Bear for the TTORA runs on Aug 20-22.

 

Looks like I'll come up Saturday morning. What time should we meet on Saturday?
