Looks like things are changing, and I won't be able to camp. I will just join you guys on Saturday for the day.

Ok,

I dropped my truck off today for the new kit. I am confident that they can get me out by the end of the week. I am 90% sure I'll make it. As long as I can get it by friday, right? I'll try to get there before 9:00am but I think my gitlfriend has a test that morning (don't tell her I forgot). I'll get there as soon as I can. I'll cover my share of the cost. Can't wait -Seth

I go to Protrux in San Marcos www.protrux.net They are close to the company that is building my kit for me(JD FAB, also in San Marcos). They have always done me well, and are very into customer satisfaction. Plus when I'm done no one will have a 4runner like mine. J/K -Seth

A quick bump so ppl don't have to search thru the threads.... please be prepared with all your own camping gear. also bring plenty of water as we you'll need it. I'm not sure exactly if we'll be able to use the fire pits since it is high in the fire season but expect that we can't so please bring some portable gas/propane grills instead.

i'd like to do a quick heads up on who's actually going still - also if you can post up what time you'll be there approx this way we all have a general idea of what the plan is.

If anyone wants to caravan with me, I will be taking the back route to big bear (instead of taking 18, i'm gonna take the 38 - easier as it's alot less curves to deal with). I plan to head out of the 10/60/15 junction area (ontario mills area (in general) around 8pm and attempt to arrive at big bear around 10pm. If others will arrive earlier I will try to make it out there earlier.

night run? maybe we'll see depends on how many ppl we have and show up

Getting there:
Take I-10 east (State Hwy 330) to Running Springs, CA. Take State Hwy 18 to Big Bear Lake Dam. Do not cross Dam. Go straight on SH-38 to Fawnskin and left on Rim of the World Drive (3N14) for 1.2 miles to 2N13. Follow 2N13 for a short distance to the campground.

Fees:
Group Camp fee: $130.00
Rsvp fee: $9.00
total: $139.00 (damn doesn't this hurt...)
Depending on how many actually show up our group camp fees will change. More the better

I'm still a go and chomping at the bit to get outta here for a few days!

I plan on leaving Friday afternoon. Phalanx and I have been talking about caravaning up Friday but he has to work until 2. I haven't heard back from him if he can leave at 2PM or not.

If I'm going alone I'll probably leave noonish and be there by 2 or so to fool around and check out the area.

Now it's off to borrow an impact wrench to put on some front recovery hooks! Not that I'll need them or anything...

Ok guys, I won't be making my first Yotatech run. I'll be looking for the next San Diego area event though!

If anyone is available again on Aug. 21st, TTORA-SOCAL will be in Big Bear for their annual run up there.

Inland Empire club is having a big run (200 vehicles?) on Aug 28th also.

Have fun, be safe, and see you next time.

I might be able to make it out - I've got a temporary fix (as permanent as it'll get) on my exhaust so if I don't encounter any further problems I may head on up

I plan on leaving the Bay Area around 12:00pm on Friday. With breaks this should put me in between 7:30-8:00pm, maybe a bit earlier. I hate setting up in the dark. I'll have my 12yr old son with me.

I may even come down the night before and shack up with some relatives in Santa Clarita for the night.

Thinking about coming up Sunday morning for a day run. Will you be hitting the trails early on Sunday? Looking for Easy/Mod (No Locker/No Armor).

If it's only 1.2 miles up Rim of the World that puts it about here. Check the attached picture. Correct me if I'm wrong. All I did was measure from a waypoint at the start of RIm of the World to 1.25 miles up the road.

I see where you're seeing 2N13A though but that's like seven miles down the road from gettgin onto Rim of the World.

Thanks Matt, the pic itself is close to what Lance described.
