4wheeling in Illinois

I'm moving to the northern chicago area, and I was wondering if there are any 4x4 trails around lake michigan or surrounding areas. This could determine whether or not I bring my truck to school.

Most are a good couple hours drive to get to them. The closest option you will have will be the Cliffs Insane Terrain. For me on the south suburbs it is a 35 min drive. I was part of the crew that cut all the trails, so feel free to ask any questions about specifics.

Other than that you have the Badlands, which is about 2-3 hours away, Rockport Off Road, which is about 4 hours away, and there are a couple trails(not parks) in wisconsin ranging from 2-6 hours away. Solon IA is about 2-3 hours away, depending on where you live, but i am not sure if that is even open any more. Its been a long time since ive been there.

I'm gonna be going to school in Lake Forest, and if I have time I'd like to go hit some trails with some people, and get to know the area for future reference. If theres any chapters in the area, let me know.

Ooh I have no clue where places are to 4wheel but I kinda did some 4wheeling at shawnee cave near murphysboro and carbondale. That was just because I didn't feel like carrying all our camping gear down and back up the hill to the truck. I sure is nice down there though.
