Will do. We are bringing a video as well, should be a lot of good coverage of this run.

I may try lower 2 but really doubt it, will probably ride shotgun for that one. Definately will be going up slickrock though. We all have ( like next week for me ) dual cases. I've got the gears just not the suspension or tire like these others. We will see.

After some discussion last night, I'm towing. My wife even thinks it's a good idea so I can't pass that one up. Plus with stocking the cabin for 4 days we will need the extra space.

Gonna make running the harder trails easier knowing it's going on a trailer to come home.

Jutty. Is it May yet??

It's the top of Heli Copter Pad. Another run I want to hit really bad.

That is one mean Bronco, gota love V8s just not right now with the gas situation. Isn't Helipad the one with a net off the side to catch potential roll over victims?

Is there a way that we as camera men and observers can get to these upper trails w/o driving our trucks up the rough trails? As long as the mud LAKE is drained a bit I know we can get to slickrock, but what about Helipad, Gaurd Rail and Lower 2.

I'll ask for sure. It would make sense that you could but you never know. Slickrock is 7 if I remember right and it dumps in to 4.

Yeah, that clip is a favorite of mine and the V8 and 39.5s make it exciting. Mostly, I've seen guys just hook a cable on Heli Pad and winch there way up. I know for a fact guys have done all at Tellico but 2 with 33s/IFS and welded rear and winch on stock gears in a manual. It's ugly but it can be done.

fixed or not, there'll be enough winches there to pull your arse through it...

Good, glad to know there will be that type of support. Now all I have to do is seal up the Runner for an amphibious invasion. But word is that Steve is going to take care of that "lake", so it should make getting to Slickrock alot easier.

would it be a good idea to nominate trail leaders and groups before we get there? Or am I jumping the gun? I remember last time it took a while to get those things together. Someone said it before and I agree, that there should be a veh. equipped with a winch in every group no matter the difficulty of the trails.

The more organized the better I say. Put me anywhere. But excellent point on the winch and thinking the dual system will have to go in for the trip to handle it should the conditions be slick. Then no matter what tires you have gears your pullin' cable.

Rode shotgun with some cruza friends the last time while I was in between rigs and took tons of pics of the guys in we wheeled with. These 2 are the upper chute of Slickrock and thought this was worth filming. No winch vs. winch.

The big mudhole on 8 is not fixed, most likely it will not be fixed by the time we get there. It is up to the Forest Service and 4wd Clubs (I think) to get that fixed. We can go around 8 the other way, if we don't make a wrong turn like last time . It will still take us to the top of slickrock and there is room there to turn around and come back the same way. Hopefully it won't be too crowded up there.

The idea of setting trail leaders and groups before we go is a great idea. we always use up a good portion of the morning doing that and it seems we will have a much bigger crowd this time.

Yeah I second the idea of setting up trail leaders and tail gunners before hand. The smoother we can make start up the better, and the more time we have to wheel.

I'm sad to hear that #8s mud hole isn't cleared yet, I was looking forward to running the rest of that trail. Maybe we can send Mike in again to check the depth.

The water is only a portion of the problem, it swallows a vehicle to the roof line and slides you to the left or right - against the bank depending on which direction your going. My last time through it - 6 - 7 people were pushing on the roof of my runner - I still got marks.

Nominations for the trail leaders are needed. I think they should be people that have been there and know the area.

3. Doc - Doc ( For the moderate trails)
4. Turboale - Austin ( for the moderate trails)

These are only suggestions, and I dont know who has the most experience out there, or if these guys are willing to do it so please post up and let everyone know.

Nice list Will. We just want to follow and enjoy the group outting so put us anywhere

I do have a question, what do you guys use most for radio commucation? Some groups I've been out with use only FRS some only CB.

Nice job organizing this guys, real nice job and if it hasn't been said, THANK YOU!

You've made one old man happy
