Yep, we will be camped on the bank of the Little Naches river, so that covers cold running water. I should have my heat exchanger in by then, so that covers hot running water and if Corey comes, he drags that damned chemical toilet with him everywhere he goes, so we will even have real facilities... heheheh
All the comforts of home.

Hello,
Maybe I misunderstood but in the R.S.V.P. I noticed it said this is a gathering of toyota made vehicles and it sounds like it is a closed run, is this true?
I just want to make sure, because that is why some non-toyota vehicle owners have not R.S.V.P.

I see a couple of folks with non-toys on there, so I am hoping that people didn't suddenly decide that either club has suddenly become brand snobs

How bout we use a Ford?

BTW, if someone want's to donate the steel, our club will build a ramp for the event! If they want to donate enough steel we'll do a 21 degree ramp and a 30 degree ramp.

We're having another meeting this week to go over event details and I believe Rob had a lead on one, but we'll definitely consider the offer. Building it is not the issue, getting the steel is.

But, both YotaTech and WATTORA have always welcomed all comers on the runs, regardless of vehicle
Thanks, that's what I thought, but someone saw it and brought it to my attention and it got me thinking, that I'd better check
, but anyways, thanks for the invite, it's always good to go wheeling with this group.

Hey i already registered but i just wanted to get some of the more experienced wheelers opinion. I dont have much mods on my rig except 2" sup lift 3" body and 33x12.50 tires. Its a 87 toy but my question is do u think i would be able to run the naches trail? Kuz it sounds like a fun run. But i dont wanna get in over my head. well some one please let me know what u think. thanks

You'll have no problems for sure on the west side. The east side should be just fine, but you'll probably need some spotting. After Rob teaches you everything he knows, you'll be surprised at what that rig can do!
#33
The one thing that I know about WATTORA, and Rob in particular, is that no one will be forced to do anything they do not feel comfortable doing, no one will ever be left behind, there is no shame in asking for advice, spotting or opinions; each obstacle can be used as a learning experience and lessons are shared.
Any newbie with a bit of lift, good tires, patience and the ability to take instruction and advice would be able to make the Naches.
Now that's not to say that there aren't any dangers to your rig! You will likely get some small scratches but it general, it is a fun but demanding trail - demanding in the sense that it requires some focus - not expert technique.

To All: On the subject of the Naches... you are GOING TO pick up some Washington pin-striping from branches. You are GOING TO find some spots where you are pretty tippy. You are GOING TO whack your skid plates on some of the rocks. You are GOING TO encounter spots where you wonder what the heck you are doing there.
But with that said, it's my all time favorite trail. There is nothing too technical, but it's one obstacle after another, rocks, then a hill climb, then some mud, then a log bridge... When you are done with the trail, you will have a strong sense of accomplishment for having run a challenging trail that is one of the most beautiful and historic in the state.
I can understand your doubts, but with a little help from your friends, a good bit of attention and touch of skill, you can take a completely stock rig through there without anything worse than a few pin stripes.

yeh i seen guys run stock rigs up trails i wouldnt attempt, Its mainly driving skill that gets u through. But im still quite amature. Although I have tried to learn as much as i can from reading about 4x4 driving techniques, but i think that class would be great. One prob though is from my 4x4ing experiences i've had hard times getting my rig to climb steep hills. so hopefully i will make it through. anyways i hope to have some work done on my rig b4 then so hopfully it will do well. thanks for ur guys help.

Get a tow strap and make sure that you have some good tow hooks. Someone will get you up the hill if you can't. That's the nice thing about driving on trail runs like this with lots of people around. You never run out of help, unless you whine. Whiners don't keep people around them very long.
#37
DeathCouger asked if Heeps are allowed. I'd say absolutely. It'll be good winch practice on the Trail 101 course!
P.S. One thing is, your lucky it was a Toyota on the other end...
JUST A LITTLE HUMOR...

There is nothing wrong with with being a newbie, we were all there once, but it's better for everyone involved if you accurately portray your ability level.

We had one guy who showed up with a kid on a run and the kid ran amok. He wouldn't listen and was always in harms way. He ran off at the mouth and generally made himself and for that matter his driver the butt of a lot of jokes and comments. By the end of the run, I think most of us were looking to leave the kid behind.

Behave yourself! We all know Jeeps are welcome, besides if we can't get an RTI ramp we'll need something to drive up on for the contest...
