<100k miles is very suspect. About 3K miles per year (250 miles per month) for 31 years? Maybe if it was a pristine garage queen, but this one has been driven. Besides, its a 5 digit odometer thats probably rolled over at least once or twice.
$500...rust, dents, missing interior, understated miles, etc......

I see it has a bed liner in it and those can rust out a bed or they can preserve a bed. I would want to see what it looks like under there. A good bed goes for $500 easy here where I am at.
See what the frame looks like, especially in the back half of it. When I sell a truck, I have taken a hammer to the inside of the frame to let the new owner know it is solid and is what I do when looking at a truck.
What about the floorboards? Check under the carpet and in the area of the body mount under the foot area. How much of the work are you going to do to it or have done?
Even if you got it at a steal, little things like that will add up fast. If it is a solid truck with just some surface rust might not be bad. Tranny is going to cost you. Your plans of what you are going to do to it makes a big differnce.

Like watching frame up restores. Will be looking forward to your build when you start one wheter or not it is this particular truck. Frame off arent nearly as bad as you might think. Since you are replacing the bed, how is the frame and cab? Actually looks to be in descent shape as long as the rust isnt an issue. You can expect some kind of hack work on any project that you run into. The dash and door panels are normally hacked on any project. Hopefully the motor and drive train isnt all hacked up. Having one with all of its pieces and untouched makes a big difference.

You would be money/time ahead starting with a better base ...
