Advice needed for 4runner purchase

Hey there YotaTechers,

Looking at purchasing a 2nd or 3rd gen 4runner, for a trail rig, and came across this on craigslist.

http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/cto/2832065514.html

Fits my needs, by I have reservations over a 6 inch suspension lift, particularly as it looks (from the tiny pics) that it has essentailly shortened the wheelbase.

Taking a look at it in person tonight or tommorow, any other things I should be casting a critical eye on? Driveline angles? ridiculous rear coils?

Been out of the 4x4 world for 15 years, this is my first step back in.

Thanks,
Justin

IFS is sufficient to do trails. Ive never been a fan of bracket lifts ( which is why my 4runner is still stock height ) so therefore, Im SASIng my truck. but by no means does a rig need to be SAS'd to have fun. I wheeled my IFS hard for years now, no issues.

Mine worked great on the beach, stock. Never trailed it though.

Sweet looking rig, decent price I guess... I paid $1700 for the one in my avatar w/most of the major aftermarket gear that one has (needed a motor). Look around some more if it doesn't feel right, there's more out there. My 4Runner does better on the trails than my truck does, and although it feels top heavy w/the lift, i'd trail ride my IFS 4runner any day. Wheelbase looks fine, not sure lifting it would change it that much... drop it down 2" and call it good.

I'd check the tail shaft of the Tranny/T-case... mine was really sloppy (probly from the lift) and vibrates like crazy on the freeway but I have another one to replace it.
