'84 4runner - Anything a deal breaker?

I have a chance to buy a '84 4runner that was a deer lease truck. Owner says that it will start if I throw a battery on and some gas in the carb as the fuel pump is out. Has some rust but not the frame. Bad paint job but I don't care...just want something that could potentially be a weekend driver. Owner says the heater/ac works, transmission is good, all glass is intact not broken (windows). Everything supposedly works so I can't see where there would be anything that is a deal breaker here.

It has been sometime since I had a Toyota 4x4 (my last was and '85 custom cab) but can anyone think of why I shouldn't buy this runner? (oh he is only asking $700)

This does have a title and such that you can make it street legal.

not knowing just what you need where you are.

I have seen this happen before no one has any idea who has the paper work.

Yes the title is in hand and it is standard Texas title. I have told the guy I will purchase and will be heading out to get it in the next day or so...he told me that he isn't answering anymore calls about it so it is mine. Worst case scenario if something is majorly wrong...part it out or buy another and have a parts vehicle

Just replace the mechanical fuel pump which doesn't usually go out. Anyways, get it running and some sort of decent paint job and you will double your money right there!
