4Runner parts
Most of you know I travel for work. I have a friend that informed me that I could have the tailgate, top and wheels to a parts a Runner he had from a couple years ago. All in alleged good condition.
But it's a 2-3 hr trip for me to go get it. My question is: Is it worth it, just to have it?

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking. Is it worth the gas...? He says he has a few other odds and ends that I am welcome to also. No idea what those could be...
On a side note, are these tops durable? Meaning, if I brought it home one the back of my pickup, via lumber laid across the bed and top strapped down, is the top tough enough to handle that type of transport? Or do the tops need full support under the sides, such as where it bolts to the body?

I would do the trip just for the tailgate. Those are hard to find in my area. As far as the top, I would suggest using C-Clamps to clamp it to the bed of your truck. Never put on a truck bed so not sure if it would work.

Thanks for the help guys. I guess I will go check it out as soon as I can. If it's rust free, I will grab the tailgate. If the top isn't hammered, I will grab it too. Maybe some of my Yotatech brothers/sisters will need something I get from this non-Yota guy...
