FYI: Accident at Flat Nasty ORP

There was a death Saturday, September 1st at Flat Nasty ORP (http://www.flatnasty.net). Apparently a rock was pulled loose by a buggy and rolled down a hill, hitting a person who was unable to get out of the path of the rock. Heres some of the details i've found thus far:

That sucks. Almost makes riding in my truck on a hill climb look safe.

It is a bad deal, but offers a reminder for all spectators and drivers to be aware of thier surroundings.

shikes.

Reading that just made me glad NOT to be a member of Pirate4x4

And glad that I haven't been in any situations like that so far... Yeah, makes being in a truck look so much safer.

Adam

I am Adam's sister. Thank you to all of you who have expressed your sympathy. Adam was a great guy and he is missed terribly by our family. He loved cars, 4 wheelers, anything with a motor basically. He also loved the outdoors, and if he had to go, I'm glad he was doing something he loved. I know it is only natural to speculate about alcohol and so forth, but just remember, he was very much a real person, with family and friends who are grieving. Thank you again for all of your condolences.

Thats horrible, and it makes me glad to NOT be a member of the pirate 4X4 community, what a bunch of ***hats. Who cares about alcohol? It was a tragic accident, and it happened to someone who has a family, and will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Adam's family, and also to Jeremy, the driver. I hope this tragic accident can serve as a reminder to us all to be aware of our surrondings. Something like this could happen to anyone of us!!

Again, I'm sorry for your loss. I agree about the speculation and the lack of need for it. It is tragic, and I wish you and your family the best.

Our deepest condolences on this tragic occasion. Losing a family member, no matter what the cause or reason is difficult to deal with. At least he was doing what he liked best.

Peace.
