Yeah, i think it's gonna take a while for me to warm up to the looks of it. I'm not sure if the sliders are factory or not in that picture.

if those are official toyota pictures, then it would be irresponsible to show aftermarket sliders in photos whose purpose is to show that they put out a vehicle that is capable offroad.

that said, god i hope they are factory! thatd be sweet... esp if we find out they fit on some 4runner & taco generations

My exact thought! Also there is more articulation in the rear than I would have geussed, haha. The front looks like the control arms are mounted solid rather than hinged, haha, they don't seem to want to move.
I think it could look cool if you smashed out all the ugly taillights and turns signals, ripped off the bumper and paint everything but the roof semi-flat black!

so they are using the tacoma trd sport's spare wheels as the standard wheel on the FJ...thatsnot what i was hoping for.

they seem to have such off proportions. aren't they similar in length to a 4runner?

Thumbs down

too much a 'cute ute' for me. Bring back the FJ-40 with a modern turbodiesel!

that thing looks like the inside of an excretory orafice.....but of course it will sell, if the honda helement will sell, that will sell as well, If it looked like a truck instead of a new age POS, big door handles, squared off everything.....i hate where car design is going these days.

an attempt to make a factory off road vehicle that failed.....miserably. The H2 and H3 are the same way, they had good intentions, but they screwed it up for all the idiots out there....unless you've got 100,000 dollars to spend on a Range Rover or some other ridiculous European 4x4, I'd say you'll have to build it.....or buy a Power Wagon...

i would take an h3 over this if chevy would put a decent motor in it. they look to be similar in size and at least the h3 has 33's and lockers available stock.

What were you hoping for with the wheels, some spinners? They are steelies. No need to reinvent the wheel.

The FJ uses the 4Runner chassis, but shortened a bit, so it is shorter than the 4Runner.

saw them on the road today

I saw the new FJ on the road today. They were all covered up but the second i saw them in my rear view, the bib caught my eye and i knew instantly knew what it was. i slowed down as they approached my truck, but then they slowed down. i fumbled to get my camera phone so i could snap a shot as the passed by. i slowed all the way down to 50mph and they just would not pass me up! DOH! so i tried to snap a shot out of my rear window . came out blurry, but u can tell its the FJ

The FJ uses the 4Runner chassis, so yea it's VERY simmilar in length.
not at all, but toyota has in my opinion put some decent looking steels wheels out in the past as OEM equipment.

i can't believe they made the overall body length as close to the 4runner as it appears to be. they should have shortened it up some, even if it was at the expense of the nifty little suicide doors.

Sounds like old news at this point. I liked the prototype interior more...

They are factory, they have been mentioned by Toyota before, there is no aftermarket yet as there are none ON the market
