Headers for the FJC

JBA has a set out now, but they claim the stock output is 245 HP, that is wrong.
The 4.0 in the FJ Cruiser puts out 239 HP.

Go ahead, touch the headers

I bet they would be very easy, and from what I gather, they hook up to the stock exhaust since they are no longer than the factory manifolds.

My first exhaust mod on the FJC will be a Magnaflow muffler, and posibly a rerouting of the tailpipe to come out the side instead of hanging down the rear center.

Is the cost vs the horsepower gain worth it? Most people think headers on the 3.4 aren't worth the trouble unless you're SC'd.

I did not even look to see if there was a price.
Last set of headers, er I should say header I had, was a Tri-Y header from Stan's of Auburn on my '90 22RE Extracab.
Did not really notice much gain with it.

I personaly think headers are over rated.
I had a set of Appliance headers on my first car, a '68 Chevelle with a small block 327 with dual exhaust with twin glasspacks.
Headers really woke it up on the top end.

Headers IMO are not much good for low end torque, which is where you want it when wheeling.
But if top speed and going fast down the highways is your thing, then a set might be good.

The stock output used to be 245HP before they changed the way they measure HP.
