Lookin' good there Bob
So you like the Porter Cable system and Griot's too?

Did you use just the wax, or did you clay too?

Thanks guys.

Corey, the paint was in surprisingly good shape after a month sitting at the port waiting for release date. I did a Dawn wash, did the fingertip test and it was smooth as glass, so went straight to the wax step. Wow, does the new paint ever suck up the wax though. I went through all 20 of my microfiber buffing towels and definitely needed the distilled water sprayer on hand to remove the residue. Great thing about the Griot's is it's non-staining quality on the plastic parts. Happy with the results and am glad Griot's is long-lasting, FJ is bigger than you think!

Hey, at least they aren't pics in a parking lot this time. Plus if you squint, there is sand on the tires. See?

Still leave spots all over your rig though. I remember working with my dad at Dollar Rent a Car, and having to wash cars I did the day before because of the damn rain.

I always thought that you had to wait at least 3 months before you could wax a new vehicle. Thats what i was told when I bought my wife a new CRV.

Paul, no longer true for Toyotas anyway. The painted body shells are baked in massive ovens at the factory (less plastic parts) and are fully cured at delivery. Day 1 waxing is recommended for all Toyotas.
