Dealer has new FJ's... 32 Grand

Yep, I know this is the 4Runner and truck forum.. but I stopped by the local yota dealer and they have about 5 FJ's, a couple of 6 speeds, couple of autos.

I only looked at two, a silver 6 speed, and a black auto.
Black auto was apparently "fully loaded" and was 32 Thou.
The Silver would be my choice, had the 6 speed manual and was less loaded I guess. They wanted 28 for it. (still had the locker, though!)

My fiance and I talked today about selling the runner and putting the 10,000 or so toward one.. but that would mean I would be financing 20 grand, and thats about 400 a month. I'd really like to have one, though.

Anyone planning on getting one of these? I really loved them in person.

Yeah everybody seems to be pretty excited about them. Check over on this section for more about it.

I know its a Toyota. But, a good rule to follow is never buy the FIRST or LAST year model of ANYTHING.

I will stop by the dealer this week and see where I am at with order and price.

For $32,000 though, forget it... I would buy a 4Runner at that price.

I saw one in person today, blue with a white top. I was really impressed, they look bigger in person than I thought they would and are very unique. I don't think Toyota is going to have any trouble selling them!

Plus the next few model years will get more goodies for the same price plus the first year usually has it's shortcomings that we won't see for a year or two.

That used to be true in the 60's, 70's, and maybe the 80's when car were put together by people. But a mostly machine assembly line doesn't care if they just started or think they are about to be out of a job.

I think I will stick with the 4Runner for now. Too young and too expensive for me to get one.

The last Toyota Celica had issues it's first year and people have reported problems with the '03 Runners so it's kinda hit and miss but definetly not as common as models from the '70s/'80s or most American models. Alot of bugs aren't discoverd til they are out in the real world hence recall notices and all vehicles get something recalled at some point.
