ok.. so! I have a 1994 Toyota T-100 which just received a new alternator a couple months ago and a new starter less than a week ago. It has one month old plugs and wires and no blown fuses that I can see either in the engine or in the cab. I started it a grand total of 4 times today (to my friends place, to dunkin donuts, to friends place, then home) and when I went to start it a fifth time (work) I heard a click that came from the left side of the engine compartment (if you're facing the truck, not sitting in it) then every time after that I didn't hear anything I checked the connections, all good.. re-scraped the ground on the engine block (a little rusty) and still... nada. Took the starter to the place I got it and they tested it three times... each time it tested better than perfect. Did a visual inspection of the wires and they all look good - no melted or bubbled parts and no kinks. I'm at a total loss here as to whats wrong with my truck... someone please help.

 

If it is a manual transmission check to see if it starts with the "clutch start cancel" button. May be the sensor that checks to see that the clutch is fully depressed before starting the truck. I had this same problem a while back.

if its good then it might be the starter solenoid, when its bad it makes the click noise. ive heard that aftermarket starters for our trucks are garbage, i got lucky with mine tho and its been working good for 6 months
