Clutch Line Replacement, 97 v6 4x4
Ive been having problems with my clutch, manifesting in different ways, but especially with the pedal sticking to the floor. Ive taken it to "proffesionals" multiple times. the master and slave cylinders have been replaced. there is a new clutch put in by a shop. and still the other day, while driving, the car stopped engaging gears. I thought i'd put a new slave in and see what happens, but when bleeding it, I couldnt get any pressure building up and heard a hissing from the slave when the pedal was depressed. So I tried tightening the line going into the slave and stripped the bolt (it was already rusty and rounding out, from too much wrenching on it. some of it my fault). But now I'm in a situation where I need to replace this section of line. I've got all the others but the section from the rubber hose to the slave cylinder is discontinued by toyota. I'm calling around parts yards and looking through the internet for aftermarket replacements but i'm not finding anything. posting here to see if anyone knows where to find this line. One specific question is if other lines from previous years will switch out because it seems some of those might be available.
thanks

Yes, the 3.4.
The part i need is
. Luckily it goes into a rubber hose so it doesnt have to be a perfect fit.
While it's sitting up, I guess I'm going to replace the master assembly as people recommend on here.
The part i need is
Code:
3148234040 in the dealer catalog. Tomorrow I'm going to look around the parts stores for a replacement from another vehicle. Worst case scenario is I find something of similar length and bend it

Shoot, not to bad of a fix. Newbs crack me up when they don't list where they are located. If your close to me I'll help you out. Have left over hardline and correct fittings to make damaged hardline. Chances are you can have a local garage do a hardline for you just pull it and take it to them. Fittings should be M10X1.00.
I'm going to put a braided stainless steel clutch soft line in, it was christmas gift so mad swag factor Pretty proud of it so thought I'd brag.
Check with NAPA for rubber softline or advance or autozone.
Get a set of brakeline wrenches you can find them rather cheap provided the name on them is not Snap-on.

Yea I was thinking about going with braided soft line. I ended up getting a brake shop near me to make me one, it cost like 20 bucks and they had it ready in about an hour. As far as I can tell, you can't buy them from toyota or anywhere aftermarket except a parts yard or a helpful forum member. I'm in Louisiana anyways but I appreciate the help. I'm glad I could crack you up!
Also, I will say that after I replaced all my lines, what fixed my problem was getting the aisin slave and master cylinders. I ran through many cheap aftermarket parts like a fool. But once I swapped the aisin parts in, everything was fine. That was about a year ago and my clutch is still feeling great today. There is definitely some flex in the firewall and the rod in the master cylinder goes in at an angle which I really don't like but I've got way more pressing issues with the T to deal with right now.
Hope this helps

Sweet!! I’m running an aftermarket rubber softline that has been in for 7-8yrs. It’s past due for a change. Just waiting for warmer weather. Went ahead and got an Aisin master and slave cylinder from Rock for a very reasonable price. Figured do it all at once and be done.

I ended up buying two lengths of the bendable hard line from NAPA and bending them myself. So far so good. One length I bought was a little too long, but I ended up putting a loop in it to take up the extra length. Thanks again for your input Swampy!
