Truck has 270K miles, but generally runs great and is very reliable. It has developed an issue with not being able to rev beyond 3000 RPMs. This means the truck still cruising fine at 80 mph, but it is annoying when getting up to speed.

I verified that it also has issues getting above 3K when sitting in park, so it does not seem to be drive train related.

The motor start missing like crazy, the truck starts bucking, and I have to lift as it feels like it is going to die.

I recently changed the fuel filter when this started, but that made no difference.

I am considering replacing the cat converter as my next step.

It has not thrown any codes.

Any ideas?
