Where to place my hella lights. **PICS**
Heres what i can do. Need your opinions on which way to go with this setup. I have to say the first pic looks better but the second pic would probably perform better. Also how high can i mount the hella 500 fogs?
Heres the pics from which to choose from-

So if you don't offroad (or very limited amount) then I like #2. #1 is more practical for offroad use, IMO, because the lights are higher off the ground.
Did/are you buy/buying the Hella 500s or do you already have them?

I actually rarely off road. I mostly highway but this fall i am heading off to college in the hill country so i dont want to hit any deers. I knew i was looking for some lights and decided id get the driving 500's and retrofit them with HID's. They turned out very nice and bright. Then i was going to get fogs and do the same with them but the guy i bought them off of ebay mislead me and i bought driving lights again. I just ordered some fogs so i now have the HID 500's, a pair of 500 driving's and some 500 fogs.
Now that i look at it the first pic looks better and will be probably all i need. I will sell the extra set of driving 500's i have.

Well you want the fogs mounted low so they can "cut" under the fog... up high like in #1 they would just wash out in a thick fog and make it worse.
The driving lights can sit up at HL level but might tend to blind oncoming drivers if not aimed correctly... IMO it might be better operationally to go with option 2 except loose the upper pair... maybe put those 55w drivers out back for extra bright reverse/work lights and leave the HIDs up front in the lower mount... it would look a little strange though with the white plastic covers that way... maybe with some mesh "stone grill" guards instead it would look better...

Regardless of where the driving lights are there gonna blind because they have those HID's in them. They will only be used when there are no other drivers on the back roads. The fogs can be mounted lower..Something like this?? (fogs are on the bottom) Like this any better?

That's would work better for the fogs but I'd still move the driving lights towards the outer edge... in the middle there they are blocking the rad which "could" lead to cooling issues... that and I've never been a fan of the "2 in the middle" layout lol... and if you aim them right the HIDs won't really blind anybody lol...

I vote option three. Run the fogs low to the ground, as low as you can. The higher they are, the worse the output.
I suggest you look into upgrading your headlights. Perhaps some e-codes and 80/100w bulbs are in order
After doing mine, I never use my hellas

Yeah "option 3" looks pretty good but move the driving lights to the width of the fogs. You can kind of see where I had my LightForces mounted onto my truck in my avatar (blue circles on the red truck). Post pics when you get them mounted up
