Just found this thanks to disco's linky... great idea... little spendy for me just now... curious what the W equivalent output is on these at L & H...

 

Officially installed and Operational. MONEY. WELL. SPENT.

 

After having my truck back on the road for a couple of weeks, I love these lights..well worth the $$ IMO

 

I concur, ran them for 2 months now. It took me a bit to get them adjusted properly, and they are great, the nice surprise was how well they have worked in heaving snow and fog. I've had people come up and ask me about them, all XJ guys.

 

Not sure on the specs, the trucklite website specs really aren't the greatest.

But still loving mine not a nick of issues besides my OCD kicks in when cleaning them due to they are plastic and not glass anymore but they still look perfect.

Did have them in a nice snow they did freeze up a bit but like I said before in previous posts depending on the housing hid's will do the same, nothing will ever beat the heat that halogens put out but I really don't care after the difference between the two. Still worth every penny spent and I have become use to the cosmetic look of the lights.

 

Anybody figure out what the W output on these things yet... IK LEDs are calc. in Lumens but it would be nice to know the equivalent for comparison...

If I had gobs of $$$$ to blow I would have gotten the J.W. Speaker 8700 Evolution LED's...
the big attraction for me on these lights is the low power draw

 

Nice link zone but I'm still curious about the equivalent #s... IK stock 55/65 or upgraded 60/100 H4s do not put out all that W as light a lot of it is heat but on the other hand IK what kind of visible light output I will get from them. It would be nice to able to compare from a common pt. of reference.
I found a lumen/watt calculator on line so I guess when I get time I will download it and try to make some kind of sense out of the lumen #s...

 

Hey drop, do you mean just the mounts behind the lights and the chrome outer trim? I thought you had to change the rad support to fit those 5"x7"s? I just bought a 92 pickup w 22re w 107k miles for $600. Body is shot but motor runs strong. I want to change out my 2nd gen runner front end for the look of the 1st gen runner/3rd gen pickup so I, TOO, can use these awesome LED 5"x7"s.

 

So have a not so good update 2 years later.
On the way home tonight my passenger side headlight high beam was flickering quite a bit even though I was using low beams. Fortunately it was dusk so I was able to get away with out my headlights for the last couple of miles.
Got home thinking I had a bad relay, short or headlight switch.
Decide to take a look at the lights...kind of ticked, found moisture in the passenger side housing.

the light has not been subjected to a crash or anything.
I swapped out an old H4, not one flicker with the truck idling for 30 minutes. Plug the trucklite headlight back in, high beam starts to flicker again.
Glad I didn't start a lot of chasing ghosts with a DVM..the swapped light leads me to believe the moisture is the culprit. No moisture or any issues with the d/s light.

time to see how Truck Lites customer service is with their 3 year warranty.
I really like the out put on these things and glad the warranty might come through for me but I really don't want to have to pay $180 for a replacement. That will probably not happen for a month or more..

 

Update:
I wasn't getting any email response from Truck Lite so I posted on their Facebook page.
Very quick response and they had me email another department and I got a great response.
They are sending another set of lights and they will cover shipping for me to return the my existing lights. It took some time but kind of cool getting two replacements instead of just one.

 

Truck Lite's Warranty came through finally
20 minutes later two new headlights installed

YOu mean Trucklites replaced both even if only the passenger side light was defective? Awesome service!

 

I have had a set of trucklites led's in my chevy express for about six months now. Awesome lights!
I had a bad one out of the box and they replaced both as well. No issues since.
Gonna have to get another pair for the yota...

 

This is with Trucklites model 27450C. Cut-off is sharp and horizontal spread is much better than halogens.






Well worth it, I think. Advantages of Trucklites:
(1) Better spread/coverage
(2) Sharp cut-off
(3) Brighter, of course
(4) Less load on alternator, hence less load on engine
(5) Should last longer than halogens, so economy in the long run

My only gripe is the hot spots slightly higher than the cut-off. They are most obvious on low-beam. Do you see the same? I emailed TL about it but no response, yet.

(Those are my tarp and sleeping bag on grass. Reserving a spot for a big picnic at Zero Dark-Thirty because it's hard to find a good spot here during the summer.)

 

I just thought I would put my 2 cents in here. I used part # 27009 from NAPA. Also a Truck Light part that uses a 9003 bulb and the improvement is incredible, over the standard H6054. Maybe not as good as the l.e.d. but they are only 50$ each. A huge improvement but not 400$ for the set

 

Yessir, they replaced both lights, not sure if they meant to but the RMA they sent me showed two lights
