Hi I need some help in finding the problem with my power door locks. I have a 05 Tacoma and some times the drivers side door lock won't unlock. The switch has power and when I click it to lock it clicks and locks but when I click to unlock it does nothing not even a click. When I try the passengers side it does the same thing it will lock but not unlock. It's not the switch because it does the same thing on both doors. If I manual unlock the door it goes back to working again. It happens about once a month. Any ideas?

I recently got rid of a 2005 Chev. Colorado that did the exact same thing. I was never able to figure out exactly what caused it. A mechanic friend disconnected the battery overnight. In the morning he reconnected it and let the truck sit a few more hours. Doing that re-set something and the problem was gone.

 

Sounds like the door lock needs some lube.

It appears to be sticking or maybe the linkage is bent or loose.

You won`t know till you take it apart.
